Somerset County Council run Step Up, a scheme that provides grants worth up to £500 to help overcome financial barriers when seeking employment and returning to work. The grant can cover costs such as transport, childcare, work clothes, learning resources and training courses.

Somerset County Council needed a way to coordinate and evaluate the initiative; specifically

• receiving referrals
• recording what's happened with each person supported
• making referrals
• tracking KPIs
• generating reports

The team turned to Makerble to manage and evaluate their work. They now have a centralised CRM (case management tool) that records the details of all the participants and they have reporting dashboards that itemise and quantify the support they've provided to people seeking employment.
